What is The HUB Club?

The HUB Club is part of the Hillcrest Community + Area Relief Ministries partnership effort toward community mobilization and capacity building in the Hillcrest Circle neighborhood of East Jackson. ARM’s work in this area launched several years ago when we began praying in the neighborhood, building relationships, hearing from the residents, and working with them to identify what dreams they had. We are now operating an afterschool mentoring and tutoring program from our community center located in the heart of the neighborhood.

HUB stands for “Helping Us Build.” At The HUB Club, we are working with parents, schools and churches to build strong students who ACT Like Leaders, LEARN like Leaders and LIVE like leaders, or students who are “ALL in!”

Through The HUB Club’s ongoing partnership with parents, the students grow to ACT like Leaders. By connecting with teachers, principals, coaches, guidance counselors, and HUB mentors, the students grow to LEARN like Leaders. By reaching out to local pastors, professionals, churches, and parents, the students grow to LIVE like Leaders. With ongoing prayer, evidence-based and best-practice approaches, and community-spanning collaboration, The HUB Club is truly a community effort in “Helping Us Build” Leaders.

How can you support The HUB Club?

1. SPONSOR A CHILD 

While this neighborhood-based program is free for children during the school semesters, the costs per child obviously cost a considerable amount. With 85% of every penny donated going directly to client services, any donations you make to ARM are used with great respect and faithful  stewardship.

We need sponsors for each of our children at the following costs:

$250 | sponsors a child for summer camp
$500 | sponsors a child for one semester
$1000 | sponsors a child for one year
$2500 | sponsors a family for one year

2. STOCK OUR SUPPLY CLOSETS

In an effort to keep our costs as low as possible, we reach out to different Sunday School classed, offices, small groups, or even your own families to help gather the supplies we need to serve our students. Collect school supplies, healthy snacks, art supplies, sport supplies, or cleaning supplies, and either drop them off at ARM’s 108 S Church St. office, or contact Andrea Hudgins, and she will arrange for them to be picked up.

3. SERVE WITH US

We are always looking for volunteers that can serve each week, once a month, or once. Volunteers can be individual people working with individual children, or Sunday School classes or small groups or businesses taking on projects. We know that there is a way for you to join in what God is doing here at The HUB Club, so email Andrea Hudgins and ask how!
